Anything that can currently affect you. Current means right now. Your environment is always changing.



What is an injurious event?

Harm or damage done or sustained in any way.

What is a possible injurious event?

Any injury that could occur based on your current environment.



What is a probable possible injurious event (ppie)?

An injurious event that is possible and likely to occur now or in the future based on your current environment.



Prioritize possibilities by probability.



Identify defendable ppie

Can you defend against the

highest priority ppie in your current environment?

Can you detect the

highest priority ppie in your current environment that you cannot defend against?



Prioritize ppie by severity



Identify defendable severe ppie

Can you defend against the most severe ppie in your current environment?

Can you detect the most severe ppie in your current environment that you cannot defend against?



Plan defenses against defendable ppie



Plan detection of ALL non-defended ppie and defended ppie

You have to know what ppie occurred that was not defended against as well as which ppie was avoided because of your defenses. These ppie change your current environment. The probability of an injurious event can change due to a ppie that has occurred or has been detected and avoided.



Identify possibilities.

What could be an injurious event to you as:
